Rules:

1) Flash must be submitted on August 15, 2010 (or earlier if we need to make an accomodation)
2) Must use all original artwork
3) Can use speakonia or personal voice acting
4) Can receive voice acting help from anyone who is willing to give voice acting to both parties
5) Using LL event preloader/lead-in for August 15 will be appropriate, but making your own preloader is encouraged
6) Must use all original coding with the exception of using a LL event preloader/lead-in
7) Must do all your own animation
8) Can look at tutorials and other materials for help as long as it is accessible to both parties (i.e. a tutorial in the forums would be kosher, as well as any adobe tutorials)
9) Can submit previews of WIP to get feedback, but cannot have any other lock edit your flas or review your flas, i.e. previews can be in swf format only

We don't have too many of these flash fights, so I apologize if the rules of the game appear to be under-development or ill-defined.  I can provide clarification and I am open to proposals for modification.

RSS Lock has challenged Red Bull Lock to the greatest flash fight of all times!  RSS and Red Bull will each submit their own unassisted solo lock flash (i.e. all original art including lock, no assistance from other locks for coding, animation, etc.) for Lock Propaganda Day (Aug 15, 2010) and the victor will be allowed to continue his time at the Lock Legion and become a lock legend in his own right.  The defeated party will be shunned and will become perma-banned from locklegion.org for all time.  The best flash will be determined by either a secret panel or open majority vote (NG scores are too easy to rig, and we don't want an alt flood in order to rig results either).  Failure for one contestant to submit a flash will result in a forfeiture.  Failure for both to submit a flash will result in a month ban for both.

This thread will also be open for betting Lock points on the outcome of the brawl.  May the best lock win.

EDIT:  Using LL preloaders and LL propaganda event preloaders will be okay for purposes of being consistent with LL propaganda day.

EDIT:  Seems RSS heavy on betting thus far, I was thinking of making 2:1 odds against Red Bull too.  Oh well, I guess if the betting is too lopsided, new LL wealth will be created.

Well, i just saw the topic Leaf made for the Bi-Weekly contests in the flash forums. The idea is really great and his new take on it (with the 2 rules to post the entry and 2 more weeks to polish it before submission) is pretty cool as well, so i asked sunshine to admin me for a few minutes to set it up accordingly.

Leaf is the new contest moderator, he doesn't have any powers outside of the forum so don't complain about more staff members. I would've taken the position on my own but since leaf made the topic i think he deserves it.

Now, get creative and do something. I think in a few weeks sunshine and I can start working on the new website and when the major work is done, he will probably add some really cool shit that you can spend your lockpoints on .

ABOUT THE CHAT

Well, i was bored today and figured "hey, why not make a nice chat for the locklegion", and so i did.

If you have an irc client like mIRC or Nettalk (i'd suggest you to go DL nettalk cause it's free any easy to use), do this:

say /server irc.rizon.net. If a window pops up with a bunch of channels, uncheck "pop-up favorites on connect" and close it.
once connected, say /join #LockLegion

Then you're in the channel, here's a list of some other basic commands:

• change your nickname: /nick newname

• register your nickname: /ns register password e-mail use a real e-mail address - it is used to verify your registration later.

• identify your nickname (a.k.a login): /ns identify password you must identify yourself every time you connect to the server. you can tell mIRC to do this automatically. this will be covered below.

• join a channel: /j #channel

• leave a channel: /leave

• quickly leave and rejoin a channel: /hop

• private message user: /msg username message a new chat window won't appear until they respond to you

• change e-mail: /ns set email new@email

• change password: /ns set password newpassword

• nickserv (nickname server) help: /ns help

additional information:
what does + mean? +v, or a + by your name, means you have voice. Voice is useful when the channel is moderated (+m), during which people without voice are not allowed to speak.
